Harald's proposal opens the way for total root fragmentation. It allows
non-ICANN controlled servers freedom to duplicate the entire space,
including ccTLDs. There is no reconciliation, or consolidation of existing
roots (which is what the Inclusive NameSpace is doing right now). Just an
open free-for-all. Verisign, CNNIC, and New.net, all have browser plug-ins
to enhance the DNS ready to go.

Should this motion succeed, the DNS will snap like a twig. We can save the
DNS, but we won't be able to save ICANN for backing it.

Best Regards,

Simon Higgs
