If I can butt into this conversation for the purpose of clarity, the ICANN
position is what was stated in the Roberts letter to Rutt: that the bylaws
currently allow NSI to name three representatives to the NC, but that the
ICANN Board believes that it would be appropriate for NSI to limit itself
to one representative. If NSI does not do so, the Board indicated that it
would post for comments proposed bylaw amendments that would limit the
number of NC representatives from any constituency to the smaller of three
or the number of constituency members. NSI is thus free to name up to
three representatives at the moment, and it is obviously free to have all
or none of them attend NC meetings, at its discretion.

Amadeu, I'm a bit confused. Based on Mike Roberts Friday reply to Jim Rutt,
the gTLD constituency made no plans to be on the call. Is this a change of
position from ICANN? If so, I will contact the other two constituency
members today and urge them to be available. Please let me know ASAP. don

Javier,

Regarding the list of attendees you distributed earlier for next Monday
teleconf I suggest yu instuct the operator to make the necessary
arrangments
to inlcude the three gTLD reps.

Don, could you confirm that they are yousrlef, David Johnson and Phil
SSbarbaro, and thay you all will call in?

Amadeu, who has not changed his opiniion on NSI's attitude regarding this
issue but is not willing to spend a single further second of DNSO Names
Council teleconference meeting on these idicies. Time will judge each ones
behavior (hopefully...)
