Wouldn't it be more appropriate to look at this as a competitive
marketplace for name services within which ICANN is the
currently dominant player?  There is clearly a large market
demand for iDNS services - about which ICANN should at least
be cognizant.  On the other hand, ICANN is so dominant in
the market that it could just ignore the emerging competition.
