Dear Rick: I note the following in the Excom Minutes: International Domain Names RW: There will be a slow roll-out of International Domain Names. The issue will be with the IETF for the next 3 months at least. RW details several of the failures of Verisign to devise appropriate software to allow for the retention, modification, and use of international domain names. Action: RW to produce report on IDN. end quote: It is interesting that when you first told us about the ML Domains, aka IDN, you said they would resolve in one to three months. That conversation I'd put in September or October of 2000. JPNic held a seminar on IDN on 13 July, six weeks ago. Speakers from IETF and Verisign thought the decision would be reached within three months -- which version of ACE, perhaps DUDE, would be selected.
