Verisign slapped with second restraining order for deceptive marketing

A second federal judge has now slapped Verisign with a restraining
order over their deceptive marketing campaign, but this one appears to
have ordered them to stop sending out the notices to customers of ALL
of its competitors, the first having limited it to the customers of
the Plaintiff, BulkRegister.com.

Both GoDaddy and BulkRegister vow to seek damages.

VRSN stock lost 5% of its value today, down 0.46 to 8.55, it had
reached a low of 8.37 during the day.

The company that touts "The Value of Trust" is also the subject of a
mail fraud investigation by the US Postal Service after a high number
of consumer complaints were received about the deceptive marketing
campaign.
