RE: Re[2]: [ga] icannworld.org

Sandy:

As a member of the Names Council, I find your comment about "appointing
a GA chair" both undiplomatic and factually incorrect.

The GA, prior to the election of Chairman Danny, argued for
"self-selection" of the GA chair, rather than "appointment" by the NC.

The GA held its own elections, with the results as we all know them to
be.

The NC then "confirmed" the self-selected chair and co-chair of the GA.

Those are the facts.

If the general consensus of the GA is to have a new chair, the GA could,
by consensus, or vote, make such a change. I am certain that the NC
would go into agreement with any consensus position of the GA with
respect to the GA chair.

To date, I see no concerted movement on the part of the GA to do so.

You know, I find this rather amusing. A person gets a few supporters
from a group, and all of a sudden, that group is supporting what they
are saying and doing. At least that is how these people want to present
it.

The same almost happened yesterday in the IDNO. I have to say that it
doesn't surprise me to see Danny resorting to these tactics as well.

But unfortunately the Names Council as all too cowardly to step up to
their duty under the bylaws and appoint an effective GA chair.
