We should, as well, question the questioning.

Vigorous and serious efforts at legitimate diversity are 
essential.  Mindless, mechanical, nit-picking assertion of formulas at 
every level of activity is not.

It inevitably leads to paying no attention to quality of people or work, 
instead focusing on the satisfaction of abstract and artificial 
goals.  Hence, everyone spends their time on the formulas and none on the 
real and challenging content.
