If discussing rights, I do not wish to use the word "threat".
I am still naive enough to think that if an alternate root's rights were 
upheld by a court of law, ICANN would strive to find a non-disruptive way 
to acknowledge those rights.

When using "threat", I wish to focus on the actions that organizations 
take; different sizes of organizations have different ability to take action.
Technical viability matters, however...

(the battle in court over rights to domain names is just about the only 
crisis that ICANN has been prepared to face.....and it hasn't happened yet....)
