There is no data that suggests that this type of posting diminishes list
participation.

In fact any research of archives shows that it enhances participation.

The really weird fact is that your reaction to this type of posting even
enhances participation more.

"raising standards" is quite a bucket of worms.  Why do soap operas get as much
viewing audience as the nightly news?  It is very interesting to put Danny's
post regarding public perception up against this thread.

The public is a fickled lot and the best we can do is simply do.
