Re: [council] The election mechanism to be used by the NC

Greetings,

A couple points just to confirm my participation...

1. If I am still a Names Council member for the Registrar
Constituency, I will be available for all the teleconferences
(again, we hit a Japanese holiday - November 11 - so far
3 for 3 in the fall!)

2. I think we could use IRC as a medium for some of the
meetings, instead of teleconference. Like Raul, I use mIRC,
you can download it for free at:

http://www.mirc.co.uk/

I would like to try one meeting on IRC, just as a test,
it would be much cheaper for those of us overseas (usually
the NC meetings cost around $150-$200 from Japan.)
It might prove to be unwieldy, but I would like to see if
it could work as an experiment. Does the DNSO have
an IRC server?

3. As far as the election mechanism, I have to admit that
this process seems very complicated - but I think we can
figure it out and make it work. I have no specific problems
with the process; it makes more sense after a couple
of readings. If there is a system to support the mail voting
(Votebot or something like this) where we can send in
pre-formatted ballots, I think the process could go quite
smoothly.

Getting close now...

Regards,
Richard
