Absolutely agreed, and am glad someone posted this response.

Newcomers are always welcome, of course, but they can't expect us to revisit
every issue they are interested in just because they weren't here when the
issue was covered.  This workgroup has had over 8 months to get to where it is
now, and it really is not the fault of those who have been here that long that
the newcomers are only now getting involved.

Progress should not be stopped short to accomodate them.
