PROGRAMME for FICPI / APAA Consultative Domain Name Meeting
                     Wellington, New Zealand, April 11-13, 1999


This conference will deal with dispute resolutions and the
Intellectual Property Constituency for DNSO.

Day 1 focuses on dispute resolution and the Australasian perspective.
      After introductory messages and a welcome address from the Mayor the 
      New Zealand Internet situation will be explained by New Zealanders 
      experienced in various aspects of this field.

      The remainder of the day will centre on considering the WIPO proposal 
      and a counterpoint view.

Day 2 focuses on the creation of an Intellectual Property constituency.
      Considering the structure and administration of such a constituency as 
      may become part of the domain name support organisation (DNSO).
 


Sunday 11 April 


6.30-8.30pm Cocktails/Registration from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in
            Impessions Bar, First Floor of ParkRoyal Hotel




Monday 12 April  


9.30am      Welcome speech by Wellington Mayor Mark Blumsky
            Introductiory messages from Jonathan Cohen (FICPI) and 
            Helmut Sonn (FICPI/ECTA)

10.30am     Mornng tea

10.45am     New Zealand perspective.  Comments from Jim Higgins, 
            Peter Dengate-Thrush, Don McIlroy and Howard Frederick
            followed by panel discussion

1.00pm      Lunch

2.30pm      Helmut Sonn on WIPO RFC Review

            Coleen Morrison on Counterpoint to WIPO dispute resolution

            Ross Wilson (Registrar of Trade Marks of IP Australia)
            on dispute resolution in Australia

3.30pm      Afternoon tea

3.45pm      Helmut Sonn, Coleen Morrison, Ross Wilson panel disussion and 
            open forum moderated by Jonathan Cohen


5.00pm      Conclude

6.30pm      Pre-dinner drinks at Te Papa, Museum of New Zealand at 
            the Marae (Tour of Museum optional)
            For those staying at the ParkRoyal there will be a shuttle bus 
            outside the front door of the hotel to take you to the Museum
7.30pm      Dinner

            as a draft proposal for the IP constituency
