I had the exact same thought, although I didn't count.  I did notice that 
there was a lot of split between DC and NYC.

Is there a *compelling* reason to have this meeting in September?  I heard 
people mention that DC in September made sense because of the FTC hearings, 
or that Ireland in September made sense because of the Afilias meeting, but 
September in Amsterdam?  Why not just push this out to late October or 
early Nov and see if we can get the new ORG registry to attend?
