RE: [registrars] Sept 21-22 Meeting

Since tourism is down in Washington since September 11, there are reportedly
very good deals with lodging and event venues. I'm sure that the RC
Executive Committee will negotiate well.

If it is DC, can we pick a better venue for the meetings ?

All I heard was complaints from my staff who attended.

Rob.

The VeriSign Registrar votes as indicated.

Please remember that IAD still has the most direct flights from Europe and
Asia, so it is the easiest airport to fly into the US, and then navigate
once on the ground. With DCA and BWI only a few miles away, the flexibility
for US based travelers is also greatly enhanced. Lastly, with several
registries either located in the Washington area or within just a few hours
drive-time, it is also the best venue if the registries intend to
participate in some fashion.

For full disclosure reasons, I do feel the need to state that the other
listed locations are wonderful cities and would be good locations to meet,
however, if the reason to have this meeting is to enable participation by
the majority of interested registrars and their representatives, the logical
choice appears to be DC.

Regards,

Bruce

The Executive Committee has narrowed the list of possible venues for our
Sept meeting to the following locations. The final decision will be made
Monday, after which we will undertake a review to find a suitable
hotel/facilities. Please cast your vote to the list, as we will not be using
a votebot for this poll. Vote early and often for your favorite location.

Location of the meeting:
[ ] East Coast - Philadelphia
[ ] East Coast - New York
[X] East Coast - Washington
[ ] Europe - Amsterdam
* - South Florida locations have been excluded because it is still Hurricane
season :-)
