[registrars] RE: Request for Evidence

Mike,

The information that you are seeking can be found at
http://www.icann.org/correspondence/, specifically at
http://www.icann.org/correspondence/touton-to-cochetti-20jul01.htm and
http://www.icann.org/correspondence/cochetti-to-touton-26jul01.htm.

Please remember that an important facet of this transfer discussion is the
registrant-registrar contract, which is required by ICANN, and appears to be
unfortunately overlooked when registrars speak about their own convenience,
rather than protecting the consumer and adhering to a legal contract between
themselves and their registrants.

BTW - there has been much interest in the Registrar-to-Registrar contract
that we have proposed. If other registrars are interested in entering this
contract with the VeriSign Registrar (formerly the Network Solutions
Registrar), please see
http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/registrars/Arc01/msg00865.html.

Best regards,

Bruce

Subject:	Request for Evidence

I request again on behalf of the Registrars Constituency any actual
documented evidence that points to slamming or in appropriate/deceptive
transfer practices. As the Registrar Constituency continues its bottom-up
consensus building effort, it is necessary to have all information
available.

Thanks

Mike
