RE: [registrars] FW: Registrar Position Statement w/r/t ICANN/DOC/VeriSign

Michael,

Thank you for forwarding this to the list.

I support 100% your effort to vigorously assert your views on these proposed
alternative registry agreements. While I personally was not involved in the
negotiation of these proposed new agreements, I have spent a good deal of
time learning about them these past few weeks. If you or other members of
the constituency have any questions about the proposals, please feel free to
send them to me. I'll do my best to get you a direct answer or to get an
answer posted to the Frequently Asked Questions section on these agreements
at <http://www.icann.org/melbourne/info-verisign-revisions.htm> (which I
would encourage everybody to review carefully; they're very informative and
are being supplemented regularly.)

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards,
Dan Halloran

ICANN/DOC/VeriSign

All:

Attached is the document that I forwarded to the Chair of the Names Counsel.
I have attempted to incorporate everyone's concern in this position
statement. I would like to thank everyone for their comments and proposed
redrafts/edits. Some last minutes votes and a change of vote did not make
this easy. If there are any problems or clarifications that need to be made
please tell me ASAP so I can forward any clarifications to our Names Counsel
representatives prior to tomorrow's meeting.

Best regards,

Mike
