Caroline's note prompts me to update you on the UK position. The dispute resolution process has now been working for a few months and 12 cases have been reported so far details of which can be seen at http://www.nominet.net/drs/decisions.html\par
\par
as could be anticipated most of these early cases are about clear cybersquatting or infringement matters so we have not yet really seen how the system will work where there is a more "genuine" dispute (if I can call it that)\par
\par
We also do not see from these statistics how many have been resolved by the compulsory mediation process but hopefully Nominet will publish some data on that as this is a key difference to UDRP\par
\par

Katrina\par

I am working on the logistics of getting the responses and should have them\par
out to the Task Force shortly. While I intend for everyone to have access\par
to all responses, I will be numbering the responses and making people\par
accountable for at the very least reviewing those responses that are\par
assigned to them.\par
\par
In reviewing my file, I noticed that I had asked back in October for the\par
following people to provide a brief summary of the differences between\par
ICANN's UDRP and those in the following countries:\par
\par
Canada- Dr. Joelle Thibault\par
United Kingdom - Katrina Burchell\par
Japan - Joon Hyung Hong\par
Chile - Erick Iriarte\par
\par
The only response that I can find is form Katrina. If the others posted\par
their responses and I misplaced them, I apologize, but in any case, could\par
the others please post their summaries as soon as possible.\par
\par
Also, I noticed that Singapore now has a dispute resolution policy which can\par
be found at http://www.disputemanager.com.sg/. Can I ask Ramesh Kumar\par
Nadarajah to prepare a brief summary of the differences between this policy\par
and ICANN's UDRP sometime in the next two weeks?\par
