[nc-review] Final report Review - reply please by 4 November
Review task force members
In accord with our agreed timetable, the
public comment period on the interim report closed October 28 and the comments
list is now closed. I have now reviewed comments received both on the NC list
and the special comments list. There were few. One comment sent by Joop
Teernstra chose to answer the test criteria proposed for new constituencies -
thus validating the worth of these criteria.
I propose therefore that we convert our interim report
directly into our final report (with one small addition) and submit it to the
Names Council. The addition is under the item Consensus. There was a
misunderstanding in some quarters that we were recommending the NC
would do less outreach and consensus building. This is not the case and I
propose the addition of the phrase:
"This does not remove from the NC the obligation to discuss issues and outreach to stakeholders via mechanisms such as task forces, working groups and constituency liaison." Please confirm your support latest 4 November for adopting the interim as our final report with this one addition. A copy of the proposed final report is attached.
