RE: [nc-deletes] Verisign Auto-Renew

If we agree on the requirement to delete a non-explicitly renewed domain by
day 45 of the grace period, and the Redemption Grace Period kicks in upon
deletion, then this doesn't really matter either way in regards to the
deletes issue.

It will have a huge, and positive, impact on lowering the amount of funds
that are required to be made available by registrars to cover auto-renewals
of all expiring domains, of which only 40-60% will actually renew. Of
course, that has little to do with the deletes issue, but it has me pretty
excited.

I saw this on the registrars' list

http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/registrars/Arc01/msg03622.html

which could have some ramifications for what we are doing here.

Jordyn, could you find out if the registries are indeed contemplating
changes to auto-renew?

At least this message suggests that we shouldn't assume auto-renew when
we're considering the various issues.
