RE: [council] Proposed alteration to Schedule for the rounds of Convention Style Voting

That's fine. They should disclose that information. For instance, I would expect that
Philip Sheppard would disclose that his employer reimburses his travel, etc. Others should
disclose similar information. And of course, some present bd members may have their expenses
reimbursed by ICANN. Fine. BUT, the point is that if someone is being paid, or has been paid
by someone else to participate in ICANN, they should disclose that. Facts are facts.
This will be the best way to ensure that the voters/their constituencies understand any conflicts which candidates may have which would lead to them not being able to participate/vote on decisions before ICANN board.

Marilyn:

What you suggest below seems similar to filling out a U.S.
tax form, a rather uncomfortable topic at this time of year. ;-)

Whatever the merits of this suggestion, let us please bear in mind
that incumbent ICANN Board members (one of whom I believe you
nominated) have all of their expenses paid by ICANN itself (i.e., by
the registries and registrars and domain name registrants who pay
the applicable taxes). The others have to find support for international
travel elsewhere.

However, of significant priority should be the disclosure of agreements with, representation of, or contracts, or agreements, for remuneration of any kind, including reimbursement of expenses, or any non monetary compensation, with any contracted party, or any entity such as a foundation or other entity, who has provided funding for participation or representation at ICANN meetings, or meetings or hearings related to ICANN.

etc,
