RE: [council] Re: ALSC

As the rapporteur to the BC, let me respond regarding the process for the BC
in undertaking final consultation with our constituency. We will post the
resolution and the final report to our constituency list, and prepare a
draft statement for their comment.

In the meantime, our final comments on the draft ALSC report are available
at www.bizconst.org. We would expect to build on that statement for the
next BC comments.

We appreciate your efforts to provide the report by the end of the month.

And, finally, Denise, let me confirm separately with you that there is a
consultation slot with the ALSC 11/12, as previously discussed with
individual constituencies. As I understand this email to Philip Sheppard,
you are seeking a time slot with the NC itself.

Best Regards, Marilyn Cade

Thank you for attempting to make time for the ALSC on your Nov. 12 agenda.
We currently have commitments that day from 08:30 - 10:00 and 18:00 - 20:00.

As for the draft proposal, the ALSC hopes that three weeks is adequate time
for the NC's consideration. ICANN has a real opportunity to make some
progress on At-Large in Nov. and put to rest key issues that are outside of
DNSO restructuring. It would be unfortunate (and potentially a waste of a
considerable amount of man hours and money) if the ALSC's work was set-aside
for (what will surely be) a long, protracted debate on re-structuring. We
hope the NC will give due consideration to the draft statement and work with
the ALSC to identify a reasonable basis for action -- in Nov. and beyond.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Denise
