NC Colleagues,

To help our discussions tomorrow, may I suggest that a preliminary outline 
budget might look like the following:

Full time Secretariat (one senior person / one junior) - Euro 100 K
Secretariat Office, equipment and expenses - Euro 50 K
Legal and other support and advice - Euro 100 K
Web Casting, etc. - Euro 50 K

Total - Euro 300 K  ($315K) p.a.

I assume that the costs of insuring the DSNO NC members is covered by the 
ICANN budget - as this is their responsibility (incidentally - is this in 
place ?).

At the moment we have no agreed budget, and no funding.  We cannot commit 
to spend any monies at this time.  However, we are a part of ICANN and we 
can request authorisation for expenditures from the ICANN Board (e.g. for 
the webcasting).  Until we have our own sources of funding, we must be 
careful not to authorise expenditures without the explicit (in writing) 
approval of the ICANN CEO.

Once we have a reasonable budget we can put it out to the Constituencies 
for comment.  We then need to think about the funding model.
