[wg-review] ML- Straw Poll Results

FYI. The following letter has been posted to the Names Council List.


To Philip Sheppard, and the Names Council,

Concern has been expressed by members of WG-Review that the DNSO Review
process is more than just the short-term diagnosis of a problem. The process
also involves efforts at proposing solutions, efforts at implementing
solutions, and efforts at reviewing the relative success of such
implementation, including referral by the NC to its Constituencies for
comment.

The results of a Straw Poll of members conducted at WG-Review's website,
http://www.internetstakeholders.com,  are as follows:_

1 person (3.85%) voted for "WG-Review should be closed April 16th".

25 (96.15%) people voted for "WG-Review ML should be kept open".

These numbers represent significant opposition by members to closing the
mailing list on April 16th, as proposed by the NC. In view of normal
practices with regard to WG MLs, whereby these are left open for many more
months than the few months extended to WG-Review so far, I urge you not to
cease the ML at this time.

I am also taking this opportunity to advise that the website set up by
WG-Review members for the aggragation of substantive documents related to
the DNSO Review process can be found at http://www.internetstakeholders.com.
Any interested persons are welcome to register there.
