How utterly wrong.

ICANN's purposes are expressed in the Articles of Incorporation:

  4. The Corporation shall operate for the benefit of the Internet
  community ...

And one might stop to think that ICANN is a "public benefit" corporation
.. yes, it's statutory purpose is to benefit who?  The public.
