The simple fact of the matter is that people are either too lazy to remove the extra addresses from the headers or think that only sending to the list is not appropriate and we all get multiple copies of replies to posts we make.  I have no problem with leaving the headers unaltered but I greatly dislike getting multiple copies of replies, especially where cross posting occurs.

Personally I prefer it when the mailing list software is configured to alter the reply-to header.  It solves the problem of multiple copies in the majority of cases.
