The point and sarcasm here are well placed. Register.com is a
shyster registrar that has engaged in every bad practice possible in
order to make a buck. They have been protected by Mike Roberts,
ICANN CEO, although there is as yet no hard evidence as to what
Roberts' payoff is for showing favoritism to Richard Foreman,
Register.com's chief. But Register.com has stockpiled domain names
(wharehousing), cybersquatted, and tricked its customers without any
disapproval from ICANN. Foreman and Roberts have even appeared
together on at least one radio show, as if they were partners. And
indeed they probably are, although only a lawsuit can ferret out
what the economics of that partnership are.
