Re: [wg-review] Time's up for ICANN

I personally do not believe that the break-up of ICANN is a desirable situation. However, it is an issue which appears to be gaining some momentum. If
ICANN is not prepared to re-evaluate its current direction & priorities, the dissolution is inevitable. Realistically speaking, we'd all be foolish to believe that
the rest of the world wishes to be dictated to by US commercial interests in any capacity. One way or the other, things WILL change. It would not be
prudent to avoid issues which we deem unsavoury, lest we be caught with our pants down in time of distress. Thus, I am all for looking into every option.
If Zittrain thought it was important enough for Congress to consider, why not the rest of us?

In any case, I'm off to my New Year's Eve party... May 2001 be a year to remember for its positive rather than negative developments!! All the best to
EVERYONE!
