DNSO Application Timetable
Following on to the meetings held previously (see key dates below), and in order to ensure that all interested parties have a common understanding of the events leading up to the submission of a DNSO Application to the ICANN Board of Directors on the 5th of February 1999, we are publishing the following timetable  for subsequent drafts and their related comment periods.

We and other stakeholders are seeking to ensure integration of other proposals (e.g. the 'INTA' proposal, etc.) with the DNSO proposal.  We will also review and address concerns of other stakeholders and to this end we again invite all interested parties to participate (the more actively the better) in helping to prepare an application.  In addition, we intend to actively seek out other relevant parties.

In order to achieve the objective of a representative, open and transparent process in drafting the DNSO application, the discussions surrounding the application have been, and will continue to be open and evolutionary, and we continue to seek comments from all interested parties. You are therefore encouraged to submit comments, NOW, for the current draft dated 16 December, 1998.  Your comments should be submitted to: <proposals@dnso.org>.

Note: For administration reasons any comments submitted after the 5th of January, 1999 will most probably not be treated until the next and final 'draft'. For purposes of transparency, and in accordance with standard procedures, all comments received will be posted on the DNSO web site (http://www.dnso.org), with links to appropriate sites.

The next and penultimate iteration of the Application will be published on January 12th, 1999 and will take into account all comments and discussions received to date.  In addition, we will take all other proposals into account and expect to be able to address satisfactorily any comments/concerns allowing us to incorporate these proposals into our
application.  This date has been set in order to allow for all substantive comments to be addressed in advance of various meetings being held in January, including the meeting planned for January 22nd in Washington DC. We have a lot to achieve in advance of these meetings to ensure that we have an application that incorporates all relevant and necessary points.  Additional meetings are being arranged specifically to seek out other
stakeholder points of view.  The Period for Comments on this final draft will close on the 26th of January to allow time for the Application to be finalized and submitted.

We would like as broad a participation as possible and therefore we encourage you to send in your comments NOW!
