[comments-review] RTF Interim Report
Our organization needs to seriously re-evaluate it's stand regarding the
alternate root server situation. Alternate roots pre-date ICANN, and are a
fact of internet being, they are not going away, rather they are likely to
expand as ISP's continue to gradually accept and point to them as well as
the, now primary, 'A' Root.
Obviously, there is need for set standards for reviewing applications for
TLD's and fixed time for comments, rebuttals, as well as a definite manner
of handling more qualified applicants than the decided number of TLD's to be
rolled out. If there is to be an ICANN in the internet's future, we cannot
have a repeat of November 2000.
