[announce] [icann-announce] Additional Details on June 2003 ICANN Meetings to Be Held in Montréal, Canada

ICANN's next round of meetings will be held in 22-26 June 2003 in
Montréal, Canada. The meetings are free to attend and open to any
interested person. ICANN encourages broad participation in its bottom-up
consensus-development process.

Hotel Accommodations

Those seeking hotel accommodations in Montréal are strongly urged to
make reservations as soon as possible before the end of May. CIRA, the
local host for the June 2003 meeting, has reserved a limited number of
rooms at Le Centre Sheraton (the main meeting facility) for ICANN
meeting participants. These rooms are available on a first come first
served basis and may not be held indefinitely. Reservation details for
Le Centre Sheraton and additional information on hotel accommodations is
available at <http://www.icannmontreal.ca/en/accomodations.html>.

SARS Travel Update

There are no SARS cases in Montréal and the entire province of Québec.
In Canada, SARS cases have only been reported in Vancouver and Toronto.
Toronto is about 550 kilometers (350 miles) west of Montreal.

The Province of Québec has taken pre-emptive measures by screening
potential victims and quarantining people who might have been in contact
with SARS patients. As a result, no cases whatsoever have been confirmed
in Montréal or the Province of Québec as of this date.

On 30 April 2003, the World Health Organization lifted its travel
advisory to Toronto. <http://www.who.int/mediacentre/notes/2003/np9/en/>
On 14 May 2003, the World Health Organization removed Toronto from the
list of areas with recent local transmissions.
