RE: [registrars] FW: Application for domaininfo.biz

SPAM is the least of it. I have some questions about this. Perhaps Dan
can help clear this up.

If I understand this correctly, this company made domain name submissions
on behalf of people without their permission or prior knowledge. I wonder,
did they submit the domain in the name of the customer, or in their own
name?

And then if this company is awarded the name, the person has to pay
$149.00? And if they don't say they want it withdrawn, for whatever reason
(didn't get or understand the email), they are obligated to pay anyhow,
when they might have won it through whoever they submitted it through for
less money?

And what if they are awarded the name through some other registrar that
this company submitted through without their prior knowledge, and the
person on whos behalf it was submitted approaches that registrar directly,
saying that these people lacked authority to submit on their behalf? Is
there some obligation to the newly sponsoring registrar to remedy this?

Is this thought to be acceptable conduct for a registrar to engage in?
