RE: [nc-budget] FW: NC Teleconference invoices

I don't follow the daily fluctuations, but the Euro and the dollar were close to par for quite while, and then the dollar advanced....so I'd guess around $450 US per day

Maca’s daily rate is 500 Euro’s, which would be the equivalent of around 63 Euro’s per hour

Attached you will find Maca Jamin’s responses to my questions regarding her recent invoices to the Names Council.  I intend to ask her to clarify for us exactly what her daily rate is.  Regardless, I believe that she has acted in good faith in response to the Council’s request that she provide the NC with note-taking services to us and I believe that her charges are not unreasonable.  [Whether we can find a more cost-effective way to obtain these services in the future is a separate matter.]

Thus far only Peter has concurred in authorizing this expense and, as I said, I’m happy to authorize this expense by e-mail vote only if the members of the Budget Committee concur.  Otherwise, it will hold until our next meeting.

Roger,

thank you for your message.

These invoices are indeed for the work I have done for the NC meetings !

Methodology is rather simple : it is based on my day rate comprising services and  other charges (e-mail, telephone costs, accountancy, health & retirement insurance, professional taxes ) -all that a free lance includes normally in his rate.

Concerning the NC meetings this means : attending a teleconference (2,5 hours per conference), taking notes, drafting a summary, including relevant documents, collecting and including the NC members' comments, plus charges.

I hope this answers your questions, and besides confirms the information given, when I was asked to do this job.

Thank you for your help  and I am very much looking forward to a quick response from the DNSO.

Best regrds,

Maca

Maca-

I assume that these are for your services as a note-taker for the NC meetings.  If so, please confirm that.  If not, please explain what they are for.

Either way, could you explain the methodology that you used to calculate these expenses?  For example, XXXX dollars per hour X  ###### hours of time.

Thanks,

Roger

Dear Roger,

I am  forwarding to you, in your capacity of a Budget Committee Chair, a copy of the invoices already  sent to Louis, for the work I have done since January 2001 (invoice for December has already been settled). If I have understood well, the NC has now a payment procedure in place which will, I do hope, enable processing my invoices. too.

Thank you for your help  .

Kind regards,

Maca Jamin

.
