Jamie Love is a superb candidate: he is well-informed about the 
issues, well-versed in policy matters, diplomatic but forthright,
and--above all--a stolid advocate of noncommercial interests. If
he's elected, the board will likely be transformed from a rubber
stamp that "legitimizes" the staff's excesses into a critical 
force to be contended with.
