UAE Network Information Center (UAEnic), announces the replacement of the existing domain name category .co.ae with the new category
.ae. For example, abc.co.ae will be replaced with abc.ae

====

One of the methods used by the new 128-bit DNS software to...no longer need root servers...is to use key, 2-letter, TLDs to provide
**hints** to where other TLD clusters are located. As one example, for TLDs that begin with the letters A to E, the .AE TLD can be
used as a place to register the TLD name to provide a pointer to the TLD cluster. When the InterNAT software encounters a TLD it
does not know, it can ask the AE servers if they know where that TLD cluster is located. This helps to move traffic off of **all**
root servers and provides one more method for a TLD cluster operator (Registry) to make sure they can be easily located, without a
single point of failure or censorship such as the legacy root servers.
