Ask yourself why some members feel the need to talk to their government
representative about ICANN related issues in the first place.

I was not aware that the GA thought that it's role excluded consideration of
country specific legislation affecting the DNS. It is entirely appropriate
for Bruce to advocate a position on this legislation in the GA forum, and to
suggest ways in which the GA can be heard on the issue, either collectively
or individually.

With respect, your concern is misplaced.
