Mr. Conant,

Your idea here sounds very nice indeed*** Until you get to the point of
qualifying participants.  So the republicans pass a law that says only
knowledgeable people can vote, and they will decide who is
knowledgeable???  BAD IDEA!

Let us look closer to home, so the BoD passes a contract that says "APNIC
can only deal with ISPs that are knowledgeable in ICANN standards" then it
decides that any ISP that points to a root other than "a-root" cannot
possibly be knowledgeable.  BAD IDEA!

No sirree I ain't biting!!!
