FWIW,

The IDNO has put the following measure in place to make cadidates better
known to its voters:

That all candidates provide a brief Bio-sketch of themselves,
containing at the minimum, date and place of birth, occupation or
profession and any other data relevant to the position for which they
are candidates, to be displayed on the website prior to the election.
    That all candidates provide a recent picture of themselves in
digital form, that can be displayed on the website prior to election.

(Candidates can send photo's by snail mail, that will be digitized for them)

It would go a long way to satisfy some concerns, if the DNSO would
introduce a similar measure.
