Twist and turn, twist and turn. I suggest you look at those who are
creating TLDs via the "create them on the fly" sites. Thousands of
people are saying they want them. While I am not in favor of this
model, it is certainly indicative of what users want. You insult
them and all of those who listen to them.

You know darned well that the small group is the multinationals
and IP interests, of which you are a part. Twisting my words
doesn't change facts. Using a mantra is less than convincing. The
substantive facts are in the numbers of those making their voices
heard in the only ways they can since ICANN is not inclined to pay
heed.

You can take language out of context. You can drone a mantra.
You can twist language to make it sound as though you are in the
right. In the end, facts will be understood and known by the public.

Oh, and just food for thought... NSI, Neulevel, Register.com,
Afilias... are non-profits? The IPC and BC are in favor of non-profits
for their interests? Please. These are the entities that would
crush anything in their path out of greed. Please do not try to
place them on any pedestal for altruistic intentions. They are out
for the bottom line at any cost to others.

As for my "friends" (I have no idea to whom you refer), most of the
TLD holders I know offer free domain names. Perhaps that is their
crime. They are not greedy. For those who are in the business to
make money, more power to them. Business models will make or
break depending on how their customers react. Please don't insult
people with attempts at intimidation and slights about motives.
The obvious motives behind ICANN's policies are becoming so well
known now that the mainstream media has begun exposing them.

ICANN is not and has never been representative of the vast
majority of Internet stakeholders. It is representative of an
extremely small group that says what is good for the corporations
is good for the public and IP interests trump individual rights.

ICANN has done more to silence the vast majority of stakeholders
than totalitarian governments. The difference is that they pay lip
service to the public in order to deceive. Big Brother is alive and
well.
