As with almost half of the stories on slashdot, this one was also not
checked out very well. There is no fight with the IETF.

This person and the slashdot staff who posted this persons comments as
an article mistook the private actions of one person, Simon Higgs, as
representing the views of the IETF, instead of the views of just the
author.

It was clear from the way it was written that the author didn't even
do the most simple checking into the history of the domain policy
process or into the creation of ICANN.
