Yes Dugie covered all the main speakers in today's Washington Internet
Daily.

However, I agree with you, Danny, that ICANN's plan is to be "seen" to be
involving
the At Large so as to pacify its critics. In that sense, by going along with
their proposed
ALAC we run the risk of validating their own "effort", whereas unless we
demand
democratic representation and also the prime right of usergroups to run and
organise the ALAC and to set the agenda, perhaps we are wise to oppose this
ICANN
initiative. At the very least, we should set them "tests" of accountability
which they have to
pass. It would be better to set up an AtLarge "opposition" than to be seen
meekly
accepting some watered down powerless function which ICANN can show off to
DoC.
