On this I vehemently disagree with both Joanna and Mr. Walsh.  I don't care a rip what the chair's
position is on anything.  That is not the role of the chair, to take positions.  The chair is to administer
the voting procedure (ha, ha -- to the extent the GA has one), and it is the taking of positions that
led to the unseemly initial attacks on James Love and his motion. A chair is supposed to act in a
neutral, unbiased, and objective manner, and asking what his position is only exacerbates the
tendency of almost anyone in this mailing list who ever gets a title of any kind to act as though they
 had just been anointed as Emperor of the Internet.  (I need not point out that that is what ICANN
has done -- that is why it needs to be booted.)
