Eric, Merry and all remaining assembly members,

  You can also find the STATED purpose of the DNSO in the
ICANN bylaws a well...  The GA is the "General Assembly" of the
DNSO (Domain Name supporting Organization), a supporting
organization of ICANN.  There is also the ASO and the PSO
as well...  The "General Assembly" is made up of "Interested
Parties" and/or stakeholders that may, or may not, belong to a
constituency of the DNSO.  Gets more convoluted as you go
along, of course.
