I was also shocked by the sentence (and in fact I was about to react myself
directly writing personally to Simon).
Nevertheless, he apologized right away.
Maybe you should contact the complainant and explain that, and we can solve
it with a post from you saying that:
- we consider this an offense
- we had a complain
- we appreciate the apologies

Is this acceptable to you (and the complainant)?
