[council] RE: UDRP task force - procedure for new chair

Are you saying that only NC members currently on the Task Force can run?  If not, and we do the election only within the Task Force, how will we get NC nominees?  It seems to me if the Chair(s) must be NC members, the NC should select (as they did with Milton and I)

Caroline,
its great you are making progress here.

The procedure for a new chair was agreed already by the NC. At the point the initial stage is completed, the TF should elect its own chair. The IPC and Non-commercial may wish to consider appointments to the TF to replace you and Milton.

I suggest allowing 2 weeks (May 16) for those names to be forwarded and then you and Milton announce a nomination period of 5 days for chairman (must be an NC member) and if necessary hold an election of 5 days. So the process should be over latest May 26.

If you believe the model of two chairs is good, then by all means repeat it. But do not be bound by it, if the TF is happy to support one nomination of a capable chair.

Philip
