[council] Announcement made by yj park before the icann board tonight
as chairman of the names council, i would like to
point out that a review of the motion made by caroline and the council minutes
indicates that the announcement made by yj before the board tonight appears
not to accurately reflect the motion nor the vote of the names council.
the motion made by caroline was to create a working
group to study the concerns expressed by yj in her recent correspondence to the
council. she was asked to accept this chairmanship and lead this working group.
the output from this working group is then to be
made a part of the dnso review committee report and study.
this working group was NEVER intended to replace
the current dnso study committee.
any mailing lists or proposed site for this
working group headed by yj should be coordinated thru the council and "properly
identified " as to scope and purpose and it should be made clear that the
product of this working group and subsequent recommendations will be
incorporated into the overall report of the dnso review committee which is
coordinated by theresa and her group which includes a broad base of names
council member representation (including the current ga
chair) .
