RE: [council] Agenda for LA meetings

I also agree.

I am also unsure about the measurement of GA consensus (without wanting to
start a major discussion). It was interesting the way the WGA resolution
from GA as well as the other resolutions came about. I'm just not sure about
the measurement of consensus (be it hand counting or decibel rating). People
are going in and out of the room, real time messages get bogged down, and
then boom its consensus time. Its obvious that the Board didn't attach much
weight to these resolutions. As the measurer of GA consensus, what weight
does the pNC attach?

I agree with that point. It would need to be necessary to have a full day
(i.e., a full agenda).

I agree with Don, but I am a little concerned about extending the GA for
one full day. IMHO, I think that after a couple of hours, the
discussion starting going around in circles and we starting hearing from
the same people, and in fact it was when we realized that time was
running out that people started coming together on the WGA issue. I
would like to crystallize the agenda for the GA before deciding to
expand it to a whole day.

It seems odd to me that the DNSO meets after the Board meeting. I
propose
that those dates be reversed. Output from the DNSO would seem to be
important as input to the Board. Does anyone else feel the same? Don

The ICANN site announces the schedule for LA meeting, Nov 2-4
    http://www.icann.org/losangeles99/losangeles-details.htm

As the schedule of Santiago meeting was somewhat contentious
with lot of email exchanges conccerning time slots necessary for
GA and Constituencies, I would suggest we establish now
a general pattern, the best current practice.

If we need the whole day for the GA (Tuesday), then
all DNSO Constituencies shall meet on the eve (Monday).
Then we have time to correct it well in advance for LA.

Please comment.
Andrew do you have any objection to fix LA schedule now ?

Elisabeth
